(Max Freund & Co.), exterior with exquisite vermicelli and star engraving detail, gold cuvette, glazed observation cover over mvt, spectacular fancy white enamel SS dial with hour numerals shaded in blue within gold foil surrounds, foil decorations in two shades of gold, multicolor floral detail outside minute chapter, blue glass insets around center, fancy gilt Louis XV style hands, SW-SS, nickel damascene, s#219284. Gross weight of assembled watch 95.6 dwt (148.7 g). A supremely beautiful watch throughout, highlighted by one of the most magnificent fancy Howard dials we have had the pleasure of handling.
CONDITION:
Mvt: Running, excellent-plus cosmetic mvt condition overall, fine scratch between stem detent screw and upper-right tail of "B" in "Boston," small nicks to edge of main plate above "Co." marking of "E. Howard & Co.," virtually flawless dial with few absolutely infinitesimal pinpoint edge nicks under case bezel; excellent hands; case shows virtually no wear, no dents or dings, exquisite engraving detail, case front lift spring needs some assistance to reach fully opened position and allows opened lid to tilt back a bit toward closed with gravity; tight bow, crown shows hardly any wear; good glass crystals.
